Making Disciples

Al's 1/2 Note

Warming up or preparation? It is something that we almost never think about. It just comes automatically. When we find the time to exercise, we prepare or warm up to avoid injury to our body. When we start to prepare a meal or a specific dish, we prepare by checking for ingredients, the proper amount of time for preparation and cooking, etc. If we are to go on a long journey, there are many things that must be done before we set out driving. We need an exact destination, maps for the best roads, money for gas and expenses. Do we have enough time for safe travel and returning? Is the vehicle ready for this trip, or do we need some preparation to make it suitable for the trip? If we follow professional sports, we see that there is always, and even mandatory, warm ups. In any sports event, from school sports to the professional ones, there will be WARMUPS. It is necessary for one to have if success is desired. But how much time do we set aside in the preparation for WORSHIP? Do we start days ahead or do we fly by the seat of our pants. Next month we are going to look at this a lot more closely.

Little Johnny came to Sunday School late and his teacher asked if anything was wrong. Little Johnny replied, “No, I was going fishing but my dad told me that I needed to go to church”. The teacher was very impressed and asked Johnny if his dad had explained to him why it was more important to go to church than to go fishing. Johnny replied, “Yes teacher, dad said he didn’t have enough bait for both of us”.

Love ya’ll,
