Making Disciples

Al's 1/2 Note

Al’s ½ Note

One of the very last commands that Jesus gave us before returning to Heaven was to be His “witnesses”. He continues in Acts 1:7 telling us to be His witness starting locally and extending to the ends of the earth.

We might not have the opportunity for one reason or another, to go to the “ends of the earth” even though we still can support it, but we can be witnesses for Him locally.

According to the dictionary - a witness is “a person who saw, or can give a firsthand account of something”. We all are an expert witness who can relate pure and perfect evidence of what Jesus has done in our lives.

We Christians are experts about the relationship we have with the Lord. We can share what we were before Christ, what He has done to change us, and what we are today. It is only our job to point others to Christ. It’s up to the Holy Spirit to convict people and work in their heart. It’s our job to introduce them to Christ.

When Jesus was acquiring His disciples, Philip already having been chosen, said to Nathanael, “come and see”. That’s all Philip said: “come and see”!

We are commanded and are able to invite others to Christ. Invite others to Sunday School or a worship service. Tell others what Jesus has done in your life.  Be the witness that Jesus said to be.

Some more mistakes from Church Bulletins:

Miss Charlene Mason sang “I will not pass this way again”, giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

For those of you who have children and don’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

And lastly:  next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

Luv ya’ll,

Al
